How much money is available?
Every program varies, but demand traditionally is greater than supply. Since the funding remains limited, approvals end when the money runs out. And while applications are accepted on a rolling basis, those who apply after funds are depleted will likely need to wait for the next funding year.
As of March 2017, more than 52,800 Northern Illinois businesses have participated in the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program since 2008. These businesses earned more than $384.1 million in total business incentives. This savings equals an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to 459,100 homes’ electric use for one year or removing 558,000 cars from the road.
