ComEd administers more than a dozen business-oriented programs that award businesses for taking measures to decrease their energy consumption. Sustainable Lighting Solutions is a qualified ComEd Smart Ideas® Program Trade Ally and is well-versed in the program. ComEd offers a program exclusive to small businesses. Eligibility is based on energy consumption. The Small Business Energy Efficiency Program offers cash incentives for energy-efficient lighting, including fixture replacements and retrofits, advanced lighting networked sensors, and controls. Eligible products are also available from lighting distributors throughout the ComEd service territory.
Ameren Illinois offers non-residential Illinois customers a wide range of incentives for the installation of lighting improvements. SLS has experience reviewing all equipment requirements to ensure eligibility. Lighting accounts for 20-50% of the average electricity consumption for a business. On the bright side, that means you can enjoy significant savings—year after year—by making simple lighting improvements.
NIPSCO Business Energy Efficiency Programs offer opportunities for business customers to save energy and money. Incentives are available to help fund your project and get your business on track to become more energy efficient. Sustainable Lighting Solutions is a qualified Trade Ally and is ready to help you get your project started, capture rebates, and save money. Eligible projects consist of a one-for-one retrofit or replacement of existing equipment/systems with efficient equipment, including lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, steam traps, and spray valves.
Cash rebates are available to Nicor Gas business customers through its energySmart program. Businesses that use less than 60,000 therms of natural gas annually, are independently owned and operated, and have fewer than 10 locations may be eligible for special incentives.
The Peoples Gas Natural Gas Savings Program offers incentives to encourage business customers to make energy-efficient improvements. Reduce your energy use, shrink your carbon footprint, and make your workplace more comfortable through six separate programs.
The City of Chicago’s Small Business Improvement Fund uses revenue from Tax Increment Financing to support CapEx improvements, including lighting. The program is administered by SomerCor 504 Inc. Funding amounts vary by district and funding windows cycle annually.
Municipally owned and operated utilities partnering with the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) provide this rebate program for energy efficiency upgrades. If your lighting project qualifies, up to 75% of your project cost could be covered by program rebates. Funding is limited and varies by municipality. Pre-approval is required.
MidAmerican Energy offers a variety of energy efficiency rebate programs to nonresidential customers located in Illinois. The amount of the rebate varies depending on the technology and efficiency. Rebates must be submitted within three months of equipment installation in existing buildings and within six months of equipment installation in new construction. SLS manages all paperwork for your business.
Illinois business owners, non-profits, and local governments seeking loans for certain energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades may apply for a rate reduction under the Green Energy Loan program through the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, in partnership with eligible banks in the state.
Focus on Energy provides information, financial assistance, technical assistance, and other services to businesses, schools, institutions, and local governments on energy efficiency and renewable energy. Financial assistance includes rebates, grants, and loans.
